Wiring Coolant Gauge

Post by downside190 »

Sorry for all the questions and this isn't strictly megasquirt related but I'm trying to wire up my coolant temperature gauge. I've got a 2 pin coolant gauge and have wiring one to ground and one to the cluster wire but it just doesn't want to work. Heres a diagram below of how the cluster was originally wired up.

I've wired the green wire to the gauge and but it has no reading at all. It jumps a tiny bit then doesn't move. I've tried 2 different coolant gauges so I know the gauge is not faulty and i've tried running a wire directly from the sensor to the gauge wire bypassing the original ecu but still nothing.

Will I need to wire up any of the other wires in the diagram for it to work?

Ignore this topic. My wiring does work I just wasn't leaving the sensor submerged long enough for the dial to register a reading.
