Assembling partial kit
I know that this forum not for this, but I don't know where to write.. I have bought this partial kit, I need this temporary to build MS3 http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/pkit ... -p-92.html, now I assembling it, but found a problem... Some components not as in original MS1 v3.0 kit, I have bought it in local shop, and now I assembled 5v supply, RS232 part and clock circuit. Passed 5V checking, PIN1, 20, 31 has a 5V on it, PIN2, 19, 32 are ground. Serial connection passed, when I short PIN 12 and 13, there is echo in hyperterminal. But I can't connect to megasquirt in tunerstudio, I have two ms1 proccesors, one from my old ms, it may be fried, and one that comes in partial kit. When I install old proccesor it becomes warm, about 45C, and miniterminal in Tunerstudio write -Break received- or something like that (I forget, can't check now), when I install new processor, miniterminal show nothing at all and proccessor doesn't get warm... I've tried to load ms extra firware on both proccessors with boot jumper on, I've got the same error, looks like - expecting ", received "". About my component - I have different looking L1-L2, but with same parameters and different crystal, from watch, but with the same frequency, 32.768 kHz. Can this component affect this way?

Re: Assembling partial kit
It needs to be a similar specification with the same load capacitance or it may well not work.gloom15 wrote:different crystal, from watch, but with the same frequency, 32.768 kHz. Can this component affect this way?

Re: Assembling partial kit
Thank you. I'll try to find another crystal. But as I can see I don't need CPU clock section for MS2 or MS3?

Re: Assembling partial kit
You have posted in the MS1/Extra section and MS1 does need the crystal.

Re: Assembling partial kit
I've changed crystal, now all works, thank you
Re: Assembling partial kit
The MS2 & 3 each cards have their own on-board crystals, and don't use the main board clock circuits.gloom15 wrote:I don't need CPU clock section for MS2 or MS3?
