Not getting any boost control duty cycle?

Post by kim_gulle »

Hi all!

Need some help with testing my boost control setup.

I've installed the circuit for boost control that is available at Diyautotune here: http://www.diyautotune.com/images/modki ... ematic.png
Running the Extra029y4 code.

I am planning on running open loop control with only the duty targets controlling the boost and not the kpa targets.

But when i try to test the circuit with the jimtstim in Tunerstudio i can not seem to even get any duty cycle indication. I am using Output1/JS2 and have set up the DC table with some values ranging from 0 to 100 duty cycle.
But no matter what RPM or how much i turn up the tps, the Boost control duty cycle stays at 0. Have i missed something? What settings do i have to use to make it work?

Currently i have these values in Boost Control Parameters:

Solenoid PWM Rate: 39hz
Controller Update(ms) : 10
Proportional Gain: 69,8
Differential Gain : 2,0

Increase voltage = Increase boost

Switch boost target tables when... : Dont Switch

Closed loop kpa limit: 255

Typical ambient pressure: 101

Thanks.

Please also include a data log of testing on the Stim - I'd like to make sure no sensor reading is interfering with it somehow.

Here's a datalog of me running the jimstim. Hope you can detect something.

Are you stimulating the MAP sensor with a syringe or something? Also how have you got the logic set of the boost controller to be active to increase boost or active to decrease boost?

No i am not stimulating the Map. But that shouldn't be needed as the Duty Cycle is based upon TPS and RPM. The kpa table is not being used. I looked at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1aEQxaHnlI and that's exaclty how i want it to work, but it just won't show any duty cycle for me. I've tried both active to increase and active to decrease boost. But still no Duty Cycle.

Typical ambient pressure needs to be set at or below the actual ambient pressure - otherwise it will not turn on the boost output.
