firmware upgrade lean condition

Post by kadamsgt »

I have been running MS1 V3 for a number of years with firmware 029k. I upgraded the firmware to 029y the current one from DIY Autotune. It now starts up fine just runs very lean. The read me document that came with the firmware warned of the lean condition when upgrading to 029y and mentioned the possibility that the VE table would need retuned. I have no problem doing this just really wanted to know if anyone on here knows what changed in the firmware that would make it run so lean. Maybe I missed something. Any help would be awesome.

Did you use "Easytherm" to calibrate your temperature sensors?
One of the old releases was built with non-GM sensor calibration by accident.

I beleive the original was designed to use the gm iat and the stock ford clt sensor. The readout in tunerstudio looks rather accurate based on the ambient temperature and my aftermarket clt guage. Could the megasquirt be seeing different values than what tuner studio is displaying.

Thanks

I used to know, but I'm pretty sure that TunerStudio can show correct temperatures while the MS1 is using the wrong calibration internally.

Correct - MS1 shows TunerStudio the raw ADC values instead of its calculated temperature.
