Replacement gear tooth sensor

Post by brandoncosta »

I have a faulty Honeywell GT101 gear tooth sensor. I'm trying to replace it with an industrial sensor from TURCK.

I have access to several used TURCK sensors at the processing plant that I work but they are not automotive rated. Is this a good idea?

After some research I found that TURCK does have automotive rated sensors but unfortunately I do not have access to any of them.

Has anyone here done something similar?

The GT101 is temperature rated from -40C to 150C. The sensors you're linking to are rated at best from -30C to 85C. That is not sufficient for most setups.

I have worked as an industrial electrician and a lot of our plant gear is also too slow with regards to switching speed, for automotive.
