Knock Module connection

Post by bravo685 »

Hi everyone, I was interested in the knock module as a standalone product. Can someone tell me what the pinout is for this board and what the boards output is. 0-5v or a digital signal.

Thanks in advance

The MS3 knock module? It uses SPI and is only designed to be used with the MS3.

The firmware to support the knock module was written to support the sales of the knock module - the two go hand in hand.

If you want to use the knock module firmware, BUY the knock module from DIYautotune or a sub-seller.

Steve, you know full well that Megasquirt is a commercial product and has been from day one, so what's the big idea?

Or was Bravo looking to try incorporating the knock module into some other device and just wanted to wire it up? I believe that is allowed; correct me if I'm wrong.

Using the firmware on the board Acab posted, though, would be a definite violation.

There seems to be two significantly different questions in this thread. First:
bravo685 wrote:Hi everyone, I was interested in the knock module as a standalone product. Can someone tell me what the pinout is for this board and what the boards output is. 0-5v or a digital signal.

I read this as asking for enough info such that the Knock Module (as sold by DIYAutoTune) could be re-purposed as a non-MS device.

Then:
Its possible to connect own knock module? Its same by schematics....
To me this reads. 'Can I put a different but electrically the similar knock module on an MS3?'.
