Good Progress. The GLCD and the OLED will be my next steps.
Does microchip have Librairies to support the interfaces and what display are you using?
I have wet my feet with PIC24h and have just completed the code for an Antilag system.
I must say these device are very powerful and extremely fast.
In relation to enclosures I am going the extrude hone aluminium route.
Still curious as to what is really knock count and its significance.

420a can you explain how position and reference information is derived from these signals?

Correct. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out the algorithm.
A bit difficult reading how many degrees before TDC those various tooth represent.

^^The tech info you have is for the N/T 2G 2.0L DSM, it doesn’t apply for 2G Turbo/Spider DSM’s.
Knock counts was just something I use when tuning my GSX, so I figure id use it (with my own twist) for my 420a DSM. It’s good for determining how many events are happening in a ‘X’ amount of time. You can only do this if your sampling/analyzing times are close together though. Microchip did have an example for a monochrome OLED device but I believe it used the PMP module for 8080. Parallel master port and OLED that is what I will be using.
I am no expert on Mitsu .Any assistance with timing diagrams for the evo would be appreciated.

N/T means non turbo as in the 420a engine found in a dodge neon, not in an evo. The turbo model had a 4g63 and is very similar to the 4g63 in an evo. I really am getting confused with all the circuits been posted. I just want to know what works the best and where do I buy or which diagram do I need to have it made? I have a 95099 2g eclipse GSX aka 4g63 and want to use the factory knock sensor. What will work best out of all this discussion?

I will have the Knock Gaurd Lite out within the month and will fit right in the MS case.
I would appreciate someone providing the timing waveforms for the 4g63 cam and crank signals for further improvements to the Knock Gaurd.
Note that all of the brains from the KNock Gaurd ends up in the Knock Gaurd Lite.

I'm very interested in this. How are you guys filtering and processing the signal for knock? using a tuned or wideband sensor? if wideband, are you using analog filters, digital filters, FFT/spectral analysis? i'm envisioning something that integrates with the megasquirt and possibly fits inside the case. i bet it would be possible to receive proper signals from the megasquirt over the can bus to implement windowing. maybe once the angle clock is done? that would allow the solution to work with any wheels that the MS supports. also how are you guys adapting to engine noise over the rpm range? also as the engine ages and tolerances become looser producing more background noise?

Difficult to determing price as I don't want to go beyond budget of ms ethusiast yet the device functionality is world class.

First, this is not an LCD it's a VFD which is more expensive than an LCD. Second, it is in bad taste to put down a B&G product on a Megasquirt Forum while pushing your own product.

I agree he could have picked a more pertinent example, but I don't think he was quite putting down the MV2 so much as using it as an example of what he believed was a comparable commercial product and the going price for such a thing.

Let's just say that the comparison was not done in a very positive way. Regardless of my or anyone else's opinion on Megaview, it is not an LCD and a chip. But that's my own perception and opinion on the matter and some may think I'm not in a position to comment on people pushing their own product.

FWIW I think $150 is pretty reasonable for a knock detection device like this.
Have you seen the price of say, Phomula? and this hooks up nicely with MS so you can have auto retard upon knock sensing. MS knock ability is pretty piss poor so I think this is a fantastic product - and I'd buy one happily if I had the £$£.
