Once in a while, a nobish persuit leads one in the wrong direction on these forums. The spark booster fulfills a specific requirement and I just needed to gain a tad more detail on things to learn I would not require it - wish I could have gotten there sooner and don't like leaving a path of confusion behind me.
Not having the ability to remove a post, I edited my non applicable comments.
If this offends, please accept my appologizes.

Hi.

I have tested a positive Cop driver whit IR4427, and it works great at VAG Cops.

I'm sure that can work, but there's no short circuit protection. The parts are more expensive than the discrete transistor version.

James,

After installing the Spark Booster and everything seem to work. The engine can rev to 7000RPM with is considered high for a 1UZ.

However, sudden the engine hesitate to rev over 4000RPM and run very lean, but it seems to come and go.

Can you help and have a look at my MSQ and datalog file?

James does the booster circuit work with vag cops that have 1.5k+ resistance between pin 2 and 3? My car right know is running with ground switching method of the manual. but I am planing on changing cops and would like to have a more universal set up that work with any vag coil.

James, I'd like to buy one of these but do not have PM privileges yet and can't seem to locate your email. What is the best way to place an order? Thank you.

I'm confused in my nievety, the ir4427 is a low side mosfet driver. shouldn't a high side driver like the TPS2812 be used to drive 5v from the ms board vcc out to the vag coil?

figured out the nomenclature confusion a "low side driver" drives a fet/igbt that is in the low side position to the load (driver outputs a high signal), not outputting a low side signal to a fet/igbt

Folks are actually trying to use VAG COPs?
IMHO they are horrible pieces of junk.
(Nothing wrong with this driver board, it's the VAG COPS at issue)

They are generally considered "10K" units as that is how many miles they tend to last if you are lucky.
This includes new replacements.
Many folks in the VW community go to extreme lengths to replace them: Direct "HD" aftermarket replacements are very expensive.
Google/search a bit on vwvortex and the Audi boards...

You have been warned, there are many far better options.
Always doing things the hard way, MS2 sequential w/ v1.01 mainboard, LS2 coils. 80 mile/day commuter status.
