A drive by wire throttle pedal with only one sensor? It even looks like it goes through the entire 0 to 5 volt range with no sort of "out of range" value to report, meaning that any voltage from that pedal would be interpreted as a valid signal. No failsafes whatsover... yikes!

There is some scary hardware.
Sometimes you just can't knock OEM hardware....!!

We just need to get James to let us in on how he put together the translator from CAN to UART serial to run the GM controller with the current code.

Does anyone still have drive by wire files? Could you e-mail me? machadohfls@gmail.com

Is it possible to use this with one of the many motor driver boards that's ava for the Arduino's? Wouldn't that save us from having to build the circuit board the op has built?

I've attached a picture of "L298N Dual H Bridge DC Stepper Motor Drive Controller Board Module". These can be had for ~$5 off eBay. Isn't this essentially the same thing the op is building here? That drives the throttle motor from the Arduino?

Dumbed down, the arduino reads the pedal position via its potentiometer(s), sends a pwm signal to a motor driver, motor driver controls the throttle motor correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a Arduino UNO, the L298N motor controller, a Subaru pedal and DBW TB

Keep up the good work!
At first: the L298 unit cannot handle the Power of an Throttlebody. Must hold minimum 3 Amps.

second: In the Attachment you find Arduino code with english comments.

Have fun, greetings Gerald
Hello transaxel, could you share the arduino code again to replace the PIC? Thank you.

Although this is an older post, if anyone is considering a DBW setup and is looking for a safe pedal, look at the 7.3 and 6.0 powerstroke TPS pedals, they adapt pretty easily into anything and the 7.3 has a single tps with an idle validation switch. This is safer than the one quoted above, as if you have any issues with the single TPS and let off the pedal it should fail safe into idle validation. The 6.0 that came afterwards uses two inverse output 0-5v tps sensors in an intergrated "apps" housing.

Anyone tried using any of the standalone dbw controllers with their MS?. I've been searching for the last couple days and found a couple that look like they have the necessary safeties. Some others that sound to vague without further contact with them. More yet that I'm not sure if I would use in a stationary engine.

here's a computer module for driving throttles .. Doesn't look like it has all the safeguards it should either .. http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/Throttle_ ... M_RevB.pdf

here's some equipment more suited to diesel governor controls but should be adaptable to many applications .. http://www.mcs-belgium.com/files/MCS%20 ... merica.pdf

this has been discontinued by fueltech but i found new stock on several sites .. http://www.theefistore.com/index.php/sh ... ess-detail

Have you a thread describing your DBW setup ?
How about a pdf file on specifications and setup instructions for the ozmo controller that you would be willing to share?

Not much to document its completely standalone from the ms other than using one of the tps outputs for the ms tps input.

one tps input .. That doesn't sound good . What kind of safeties are built into it?
I assume it's CAN based?
since that's what the MS wants
How do you have it wired .. Does it take all the tps inputs?
Thank you for your time

The controller itself has multiple inputs for dual pedal sensors and tps sensors. Just the one tps runs to ms for signal. Failsafes are programmable. Only used on track so far as I only trust oem for the street.
