Successful use of Full Jeep CPS, in Mopar 440.

Post by redmist »

I made a bushing that bushes down A stock 2003 Jeep "Cam Sequencer" to work in a Mopar 440 Big Block. The Jeep CPS has the correct oil pump drive engagement on the bottom of it, just like the factory 440 distributor. The Gear on the Jeep CPS will just float on the shaft inside the block and retain the guts of the CPS.

I figured I would pass on the info for those looking to do this sorta stuff with factory EFI Hardware!

Do you have any further details, and have you had the chance to test it yet?

As far as further details, It's just a simple copy of the base of the 440 distributor with a hole in it that fits the factory CPS.

I have not shoved it in the block yet. I will post back when I get it in!

Yes,

it works great, Drove the car today on new 60lb Mustang injectors and started VEAL.

So far the CPS has been a flawless conversion.

I've posted this in your success thread as well, is there any chance you'd be willing to make and sell another one of those bushings? If so shoot me a pm with a price, and I'll get the money in the mail, ASAP. I want to mock your conversion for my 413 RB engine. As you know it is just a smaller version of the 440, so I can pretty much memic what you've done, with a few exceptions on cam choice, and Compression Ration, and have a very cool fuel injected Big Block mopar or my Dart.

i am setting up full sequential fuel and ignition 0n my 446ci 1967 coronet i have pretty much the same set up except the crank trigger is a MSD with 24 flying magnets. I saw this post and went to the junk yard and found one of those cam position sensors. I can make the bushing but I was wondering how you wired it to the ECU? thanks for the help
