Inovate Wide Band MTX-L Ground Question
I have a question regarding the MTX-L version of Inovate's Wide Band kits. I have been reviewing grounding procedures recently, and noted another post where a squirter separated the O2 sensor ground from the gauge wiring on an LC1 kit - to isolate the higher current for the heater from the other sensitive stuff for gauge readings.
I do not see a way to do this with the MTX-L version, as the simple wiring harness from the gauge only has one 20g black ground wire for all circuits to shair seemingly.
Couple of things come to mind:
a) This doesn't impact the gauge reading.
b) The heater times out and 99% of operating will not see the ground circuit being overburdened.
c) There is some potential for ground issue and I should attempt to break out a separate ground for the sensor?
Hoping someone (Matt) can help shed light on this, perhaps not worthy of pursuing?
Lorne.

Re: Inovate Wide Band MTX-L Ground Question
Innovate had a lot of customers confused by the separate grounds, so they combined them on one wire.

Hi Matt, that sounds like an "affirmative" for leaving in simple format and not worrying about the heater draw then?

Ground the MTX-L to the engine block.

Re: Inovate Wide Band MTX-L Ground Question
Yes, the sensor ground is strictly for low current sensors. The MTX-L's single ground is a high current ground, so it should be connected directly to the engine.ehrnst wrote:Hi, Is there any problems using ms3 sensor ground on the mtx?

Thank you. I will change my setup then:)
I guess all ms grounds should be left alone?

Take a look here for an example of a good ground scheme:ehrnst wrote:Thank you. I will change my setup then:)

Re: Inovate Wide Band MTX-L Ground Question
Thank you. I've seen those drawings before, but i guess I was confused since MTX only have one ground wire.

The sensor ground is strictly for low current sensors.
