Square tooth trigger wheel with VR sensor?

Post by quan3165 »

I have a hall sensor on a 36-1 trigger wheel, but I am ditching the distributor and converting to Ford EDIS.

It seems like all the trigger wheels I see for VR sensors have triangle-shaped teeth, rather than the square teeth on my 36-1 wheel. Does anyone know if a VR sensor will work on the trigger wheel I already have? It is one from DIYAutoTune, here: http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/14-3 ... p-180.html

Should I buy the OEM VR sensor that comes off the car I grab the coils & module off of? It will probably all come out of the salvage yard.

VR sensors are used with square-toothed wheels all the time... you should be fine.

We tested our square tooth wheels with Ford and Saturn VR sensors and had no problem.
