Not sure about the dwell, start at 3.0ms. The wiring is here: http://www.msextra.com/doc/pdf/html/Mic ... .3-59.html

I've been told these coils should be good to around 750bhp but to my surprise, judging from the video, this German Golf is running the same coil:

http://youtu.be/dElFiQcLsp8

13000rpm+ will leave little room for dwell time though....

hello guys so i got a brand new vw 106b from vw and i bought ngk silicon coil wires with noise resistant and i made small bras connectors that bolt to the spark plug the wire connects to the plug
i am a vw tech so i paid cost + 5% but still :yeah!:
so i connected every thing exactly how it showed me in the micro squirt manual then crank crank no spark !
injectors are firing no lost synch rpm shows and every thing looks fine ! but i got no spark
#1 wire went #1 spark /#2 went to 12v/#3 went to ign2/#4 wire went to ground ! :?: :?: :?: :!: :!: :!:
i dont know why is it not igniting !
is there a way to check the coil ?
at work we check threw scan tool ! i cant plug ms to the scan tool !!!!
looking forward for any inputs
cheers

it is set to going high and its exatly the same setup with quadspark as i had 1-4/2-3 for ignition 1 and 2 and from quad spark to 4 coils
now i have 1 and 2 straight to igniter for coil and and power and ground as i posted in the pic previously
i will make a diagram how i have it setup up right after work

finally its working and bike is very responsive it was a bad coil
i set the dwell to 3.6ms and duration to 1ms so will see how it goes with these numbers

Hi guys,

Just want to warn peoples that want to use the 106B CoilPack

I've wired a 106B on a MS2V3.57, using PAD1 et 2 for driving the built in IGBT.
Wired the coil and set ignition output to Going High as recommended page 82 from the MS2V3.57 hw manual.
I ran Spk test.
That result in a melted coil !!

My confusion was :
- page 76 on MS2V3.57HW.pdf indicate Going Low; "5.3.1.4 Logic spark outputs - resistor method" chapter: With this wiring the Spark output must be set to "Going Low".
- Page 82 on MS2V3.57HW.pdf indicate on top of the page "MS2V3.0"
- Page 82 on MS2V3.57HW.pdf recommend "Set the Spark Output to Going High." but refer to 5.3.0.3 that don't exist in the MS2V3.57 HW pdf (but existing on V30 HW pdf)

So if you're going to use the 032905106B CoilPack on the V3.0
- Going High setting requires the FET method chapter MS2V30hw pdf section 5.3.1.3
- Going Low setting requires pull up R method chapter MS2V30hw pdf section 5.3.1.4
But it´s in contradiction with page 82 on ms2v3.57 PDF ...

But for the V3.57 ?
Do I need the extra compenents (FET or PullUp R), they are already 1k pull-up ??
Looking for the Pull Up due to space and CMS on the v3.57 pcb.
Have a Right Foot ???

USE IT !!!

@madman4,

I've already replied to your PM but I will also post here for future users of this VW coil, since I'm using it successfully for 2 years now

I run my VAG 032 905 106B - 4 tower wasted spark logic coil with modified version of the circuit described in manual under : "5.3.1.4 Logic spark outputs - resistor method"
By saying "modified", I'm saying that I had to replace 4.7K resistor with 1K resistor, and use 12v pull up instead of 5V. It doesn't work when using 5v...
Also, I've added additional 330 ohm resistors in series to outputs spark A/B.
This is the only way I got it working and it still works like a charm :)

Here's a link to my old thread in which I was looking for a way to make this coil working (my last post contains the circuit schematics too)

http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewtopic ... 88#p363488

The rest of the config for this coil :

Spark Output : Going Low
Cranking Dwell : 6.0mS
Running Dwell : 3.0mS
Spark duration : 0,7mS

I hope it helps

Hello,

I need pinout for theese vag coils 06E 905 115 E
also i need to know dwell times and spark duration time.

And for v3.0 board i think this setup MS2V30hw pdf section 5.3.1.3 is good for theese coils?

Thanks for your help :)

The Pinout should be as follow:
P1:12V
P2:GND Signal
P3:5V Signal
P4:GND Motor

Use the circuit with the Mosfet driver TC4427. This circuit works faultless.
