Flex fuel sensors

Post by 87quest-TSI »

Hi,
I'm looking into installing a flex fuel sensor and wondering if this might be a suitable sensor to use?

I see most seem to be using this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Standard-Motor- ... db&vxp=mtr
I'm using MS2-V3.57 with map daddy, software v3.3.2

Thank you for any help or input on this.

I've ran both with the same results. The first one is 3/8 on both sides where the second one is 5/16-3/8

Thats what I was hopping to hear. I wasn't sure due to the price difference.
I also read that some put it before the fuel rail and some put it in the return line. Any thoughts on this? I'm thinking of using the return line.
Any tips on modding the ms board for this?

Thanks

No help on board mod, but it needs to be installed in the return line somewhere

Board mods for the Flex Fuel input are covered in the MS2V357 Hardware manual

Hi James,

I have been looking at the manuals for this and launch control as well as looking over your new manual. They are looking good.
I'm thinking that using JS11 would be the best pin to use for flex fuel?
On the launch control can I substitute the 1N4001 for 1N4007? I'm thinking I can, but want to make sure.

Thank you for all of the hard work that you here.

I got my Continental branded unit with the dual 3/8" short fittings on it plumbed into my return. Since 3/8" is -6AN anyways and the restriction on these is very small I put it between one fuel rail and the return regulator.

Incidentally, the Fuelab regulator accepts both port and standard style AN fittings with an o-ring so long as you have enough of a shoulder to capture the ring so I was able to thread the Russell adapter fitting directly into the regulator and save on space and fitting$.

I am not sure if I like the plastic clip style Russell adapters so I might end up going to the threaded units in the future but no issues so far. I just don't want to find out they like to let go at the top end of the 1/4 mile...
