Hi,
I've been looking at the RX-8 ignition coils as possible candidates for a coil-near-plug application. They are a nicer form factor for mounting than the LS coils. Incidentally, there is a 3D model on Grabcad.
The OEM ones have experienced high failure rates which makes used ones suspect. There are quite a few aftermarket ones available but it would be helpful to know which brands, generally speaking, are of good quality. I'm sure there is a lot of "you get what you pay for" in this.
Thanks.
Which aftermarket ignition coil brands would you trust?

OEM would be Nippon Denso. Probably the best of a bad bunch really. Apparently if you get 30K miles out of them you've done well.
