Cadillac ISCM (idle control)- how to wire?

Post by Jagboi »

I am looking at using a Cadillac ISCM to control the idle speed, it's a stepper that opens and closes the throttle plate, rather than a pintle controlling the airflow. It's a permanent magnet DC motor with only 2 wires ( the other 2 wires on the unit is a limit switch). I'm using MS2 with the V3.57 board and a relay board. How would I wire this up? OE application is the 80 to mid 90's Cadillac 4.1/4.5 and 4.9 engines. Other GM's and Dodge also used it.

The megamanual mentions using permanent magnet motors, but doesn't show how to wire them. The moving fields for the typical GM IAC won't work in this case, but I don't know how to change them. Ideas?
