Allegro ATS682 hall sensor

Post by DaveEFI »

Have several of these, and would like to use one for a dizzy conversion to a cam position sensor.
Spec says 4-24v so was wondering if it would be OK fed from Vref - the spec sheet says it will need transient and EMI/RFI protection if fed from an unregulated supply which would presumably apply to the car's 12v supply?

My guess is you just need something simple, like a HF R/C filter and a zener for the LF stuff. If you can keep the voltage below 24V peak, you should be OK, the built-in VR filters out noise as long as the chip isn't damaged by exceeding the 24V.
