Microsquirt and Wiring Ford 20uF Noise Capacitor

Post by oscarmax »

I have managed to purchase a brand new old stock Ford Noise Suppression Capacitor 89AB12A19AA with James Murray's help. My set up is Microsquirt V3 and ford EDIS4, I realise the capacitor need to goes as close as possible to the coil pack and the feed from the module, however, I am a little confused about the final connections of the noise capacitor.

The factory plug has one wire that connects to 12V by the coil. The capacitor grounds through the bolt.

I'll see if I can get at my wiring later on to figure out which pin it is.

Wonder if it's a 'feed through' type? They used to be the definitive suppressors. Used on military vehicles with radio comms.

im not sure but the 2 pins have continuity to each other, and they both measure the same capacitance reading from pin to ground.

Your description certainly sounds like a feed thru to me.........
