The last time I looked (2008!) MS2 was new and did not support MAF (or I didn't notice if it did). I have a Northstar 4.6 Litre (300/300) that I'm using in my Austin hotrod - work in progress. Ironically I have pinched the MAF off it to use on my LS powered Mazda RX8 - stock GM ECU. MS2E doesn't support GM MAFs anyway, so I'm looking for something suitable to use on my N*. It seems that Ford/Jaguar offer something suitable, so I'm thinking the V8 S type Jag which I think is also 300 HP would provide a suitable part. Engine will stay stock with no plans for massive HP hikes.

mark 8, ford lightening circa 1999-03(common upgrade part also cheap), mustang cobra, stock older 5.0 pegs around 300

So I think I'll take a punt on a 'Jag' unit, made by Hitachi apparently (OEM). The 4.0 Jag V8 is rated at 280 from a quick google. That'll do to start with.

Whilst reading around about MAFs and stuff I remembered an anomaly that crossed my path recently. My son has a Mazda 232F 1500cc year 2000 (80 BHP) and it uses a ZL01 MAF sensor. So does the RX8 (supposedly 231 BHP) but in a bigger tube. So my thinking is as follows.......
If the tube diameter is bigger the MAF unit perceived airflow will be lower in a bigger tube. The only thing that needs to change is the software that READS the MAF figures, relating the MAF figures to the required reality in the fuel equations.
So having some good friends at LC Rotary I acquired a MAF unit and airbox/filter etc. from a RX8 Its a well respected unit apparently, one that does NOT benefit from aftermarket replacement. The filter is also double the area of the one that came with my Northstar. Inspection of the MAF tube shows its 87mm diameter, almost identical to the original GM (not MS compatible) unit that my engine came with.
