Hall or VR Cam position sensor

Post by Donskee »

I'm working on a Ford 351W running MS2.
I'm going to run EDIS and want to get a Cam Position sensor to turn the oil pump after removing the Distributor.
I'd like to prepare for the possibility of going sequential with MS3 in the future.

Which Cam sensor do I want? The one with the half moon or single tooth? 3 wire or 2?
I understand that I should be using the half moon style which is 3 wire Hall effect. Is that correct?

I'm adapting a 3.8l shaft to use with a 351w base, and have a choice of 3.8l sensors to use.

Thanks
Don

Half-moon and Hall is what I use and recommend.

If making your cam sensor for an old dizzy (on my engine it also drives the oil pump) you can use a cheap and small Allegro gear tooth hall sensor.
