The idea of the dual dizzy option is that you set four trigger points per 360 deg (so those two dizzy signals would need combining into one second trigger)
You then define just two spark outputs and enable dual dizzy.

So when it _would_ have fired output C it does A instead, same for D -> B

so triggers are set A B C D

but outputs are triggered A B A(c) B(d)?

if thats makes sence.....

and VR signals are combined like most other toothed wheel toyota setups to one signal every 360 instead of 720.

That is exactly the setup I was envisaging - hope it works.

well it sounds like a resonable striaght forward code manipulation.

altho beyond my talents

so i see no reson at all for it not to work.

i think youve just made a 1UZ-FE V8 conversion about $450NZD
cheaper to do and thats buying a pre-assembled MSI V3.0pcb

nice one James.

I will report back as soon as i have run it on an engine.

Cheers,
Daniel.

So how does the ECU use the spark signal and what for? Does the ECU tell the distributor to spark or are there electrodes in the cap that spark once the rotor passes it?
I might just do a couple of sets of 13b coil packs.

I was presuming that they were ordinary HT distributors fired by a coil with a rotor arm distributing the spark to four towers.

You can go waste spark by all means, but this discussion is about trying to use most of the OEM hardware.

the dilemma I'm in is im buying the 1UZ-FE this week. I really doubt its going to come with the ignitors, modules, ecu, nor harness. If you know where I can get them for cheap by all means let me know. But it's hard finding a lexus in a junkyard here.

On the Lexus V8 is the 24/2 style double trigger dizzy which should be suitable. Using a couple of VB921 to drive the coils ought to work.

Anyone game for alpha testing this feature?

Hi James, I know this is very old post, I just wondering if anyone got the Lexus 1UZ-FE stock ignition to work with MS1_extra. I wanted to install these motor in off-road car.

Thanks

The Nippondenso 12 tooth crank / 1 tooth cam wheel does not work well with the single interrupt on MS1, but MS2 or MS3 can handle it pretty easily as they have more interrupts available. If you must use MS1 on this engine, convert to a missing tooth crank wheel for the input.

On the output side, dual distributors are supported in MS1.
