ms2 pcb v3.0 wasted spark, another question
i have had a little read on this and cant quite understand how i should run the two vb921 drivers.
should i keep the original vb921 driver in its original place( next to the db37 connector) and modify the circuit slightly?.
what i have read says to take an output from the top of r26 for the first coil driver (coil a) and an output from the top of r29 for the second coil driver(coil b).
so i have the original vb921(coil a) where it is supposed to be (on the heatsink next to db37) and the second vb921 elsewhere in the case..
could i use one of the spare pin outs on the db37 as an output for coil b?
o.h and another thing, where do i get a code for this as im running the original 60-2 wheel with vr sensor.

MS2 code doesn't do wasted spark on its own just yet. But hold your breath and there may be a release of real soon of MS2/Extra (same chip, revised code) that does.

right, o.k.. thats news..
so is there any way i can get mine to do wasted spark?.
so its the ms1 v3 that can do w/s is it?.
http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra ... wheel.html
this site here is where i got the information on how to get wasted spark..
can you confirm this is wrong.. or is it correct but there is just no code to support it.. also i found info on another forum of another guy who is running a ms2 v3 and he claims he is running wasted spark too..
the engine he is running has the same block as mine but the heads are different.. his is 16v mine is 8v.
http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra ... wheel.html
any ideas how this is done?

correct me if i`m wrong but can you put a megasquirt 1 cpu into a megasquirt 2 pcb v3..
will this then make it a megasquirt 1 to enable me to run wasted spark?
if this is the case then i am quite happy because the ms1 processor is really cheap.. and then i can keep my ms2 processor for when the extra firmware does arrive...
so is it possible to just put a ms1 cpu into my ms2 board.. this probably makes me sound a bit thick but im just looking for possibilitys

Yes the MS1 processor will fit just fine, but you MUST remove the 12v feed to the socket or the MS1 chip will be destroyed.

is that all i need to do to make it an ms1?. and would it be simple enough to put it back to ms2 once i have altered the ignition circuit for two coil drivers?.jsmcortina wrote:Yes the MS1 processor will fit just fine, but you MUST remove the 12v feed to the socket or the MS1 chip will be destroyed.

what i mean is,if i wanted to go back to ms2 (when the "extra" code is released) would the circuit for wasted spark be the same on a ms1 as it would be on the ms2?. so i could just whip out the cpu and reconnect the +ve feed for the ms2 and insert the chip?.
