I'm trying to get a good idle first. I have stock Ign and AFR maps, looking for fuel now. I have lots of reading to do, and some inspecting. Plugs are probably fouled, might be overdriving my injectors a bit with this new fuel pump too. I need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, or at least a gauge.jsmcortina wrote:Nice.

I believe I am running very rich, or one cylinder is missing. I might even have a stuck lifter at this point, it has happened a few times in these cars.
I burned 2 of the coils pretty bad a long time ago. I thought they were ok because they were sparking, but they were not sparking strongly. I borrowed my wife's coils (non-turbo 3000GT) and I got better results.
However, I am still getting a lot of smoke. I don't know if it is coming from fuel or oil from the turbos. I think it is the turbos; the intake is very oily. I will try taking the turbos out of the picture and clean the intake out a little.
So far, it looks like the 6G72 code is a success!

I'm pretty confident the code is working as it should. The 6G72-specific part of this seems to be pretty successful, the rest of my trouble will be 'normal' megasquirt challenges.UnaClocker wrote:Did you drive on it at all? You'll want to run it all the way up to the rev limitter under load before declaring it a success. Just to be thorough, ya know..
I had serious hesitation issues under load before all this. Now I've got a lot more information available to help me solve that. If I can just get it running smooth in the mid-range, it will be better than what I had.
Here is a video showing the prequel to my 'megasquirt success story'.

No, thank you very much! Although I could have hacked it out myself, I am *very* happy I was able to just plug it in and run it this time once I got all the minor installation issues worked out. My car has been sitting for a year, and I've missed it more than I should. Now I have to sell my bike to fund my larger turbos and related items.jsmcortina wrote:Thanks for the video - great to see the code work first time.

Just a status update...
I have upgraded the turbos (TD04 15Gs), put in bigger fuel injectors (550cc), split the intake into seperate filters for each turbo, and installed an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I have also wired up the IAC motor.
Now I have a pretty stable idle - generally within 50rpm but with an occasional drop of about 150rpm. The smoke is basically gone except for a little oil from the old turbos making its way through the pipes.
Thanks again for including this code!
