boost control

Post by plain325 »

Is anyone using the boost control in the later betas? How is it working, i have the hardware part figured out, but what about the software. How does the target table work, what does the %bin on the left side represent? does it mean tps? Can you set up the target table, and the PID variables properly, and thats it?

The target table is TPS on the y axis and rpm on the x axis...

In closed-loop mode, the table is filled with target kPa... in open-loop, it's filled with dutys.

Ken not that I doubt your awesome abilities, but is boost control good now? I saw some members post issues before with it, but I am about to make a move to MS2/E full time. Just curious - thanks!

given that its beta software, wouldnt the point be to chuck it on your car and try to make it work? that way you can help with the development. if you want a sure thing, be patient, and just wait for a release.

No I completely agree but it'd be nice to know what the current status is before I go spend my only two free days of my life trying to get 'er going :)

There was a problem with normal AE working with boost, but I fixed that several beta releases back.

That's the only problem that has been reported.

This is kind of off topic and I know this is an old thread, but is there a method of running dual boost targets, switch dependant, like dual fuel/spark tables? I searched a good deal and failed to find it, but one of my friends who has been running MS1 for nearly 4 years claims to have seen it about two years ago. If anyone has info on it, please let me know!

Thanks,
Roman

I don't think ms1 does this.

ms2/extra does not either.

Thats what I thought and found from my own research, but one of my friends swears he saw an additional mod for it that enabled it. Thank you for clearing it up.

I do have one boost control questions and havent seen it mentioned.... Does MS2Extra have throttle based boost control like MS1Extra did? Ie 50% TPS = 12PSI target and 100% TPS = 18PSI?

Yes MSI extra does it. It is on the boost control options. It switches between Boost table 1 and 2 when u switch between AFR and IGN tables.

Could be this feature added to MS2 Extra?

Thank you.

Possibly if there's enough space left in flash. If not, then no.

But how many settings of boost can you have? I want a high and low boost setting.
