EAE tuning

Post by Keithg »

Ok, I have been trying to tune this for a while. It is drivable, but I am not so sure that it is *significantly* better than regular AE. I am sure I can get there, but the tuning is still evasive. A couple things I have noticed. I am running 37 lb Bosch injectors on a 2 liter, 4 cylinder Saab Turbo. I get a very smooth idle with 1 squirt simultaneous. With 2 squirts simultaneous, I get a wavering AFR at idle. So, I have settled on 1 squirt simultaneous.

I enabled lag compensation with TPS trigger and 15 deg/sec trigger point. It is pretty harsh when it engages. I am pretty sure I have the opening time set properly at 0.7ms. If it is not exactly that, it is pretty close. With this feature, I am wondering if it is my tuning that makes it so harsh or if the feature could benefit from a feathering in, or if we may be able to select the maximum number of squirts. I am guessing that it is squirting 4x when lag compensation is engaged and this may be what I am feeling.

If anyone has some time and can take a look at my MSQ and log for feedback on how I may improve my EAE tuning, I'd be appreciative.

I'll take a look if I have time, but it might be a while, as I want to fix as many of the bugs as possible first.

BTW, it's 15 % per second.

Debugging this remotely is a bit harder too.. I've never run into one I couldn't get working right in person, because it's partially based on what I'm feeling the engine do when I'm in the car.
