MS2/Extra beta 10 (20070930)

Post by muythaibxr »

Fixes/Changes in this release include:

1) Removed page 10 (no functional difference, but possibly more space for new wheels)
2) Fix for wheels with less than 12 teeth. Dwell on spark A may occasionally go too long, but there should be no more misses. Long dwell will be fixed next beta
3) Fix for people running too rich after upgrading from beta6. I was squirting fuel 2x too often on some configurations.
4) Fix spark-cut revlimiter in dizzy mode
5) Fix MAP accel indicator (really just remove it and rename the TPS one... the TPS one really represents both).

In the next beta I plan to work on the following:

1) .1% PID settings for PID closed loop idle speed.
2) Add support for stepper motor idle to PID closed loop idle speed
3) Finish fixing dizzy dwell
4) Finish fixing Neon mode.
5) Make sure oddfire dizzy works.

The beta is here:

Is it possible to let us know what configurations are affected? I've got a reasonable table with beta7, I changed to alpha-n about the same time as beta7 so might have missed this problem. It would be nice to know if I need to change anything (ie req_fuel) when I change the firmware.

Thanks,
Chris

I believe people with > 4 cylinders running 2 squirts alternating are affected.

There are probably other people affected too. I did not sit down and try to figure out all the affected configurations.

I think the spark cut rev limit in dizzy mode might also be affecting my lanch control. It works fine in the 1.0.2. ver. but when I switched to beta9 it no longer worked.
I will try beta 10 in the car tommorow after work and let ya know.

Thanks.

Hopefully I'll be ok then - my VE numbers seemed about right. Thanks for all the hard work.

oh yeah, and in the "todo," finish fixing dizzy dwell should be "finish fixing low-tooth-count-wheel dwell"

tried it this afternoon - injector PW is fine, runs just like beta6. I think you licked that one.

thanks again! looking forward to the next update to the PWM idle code :D

Once the Neon mode has come along a little farther, I'm IN as a tester! (Or I'll jump in soon if you want)

I think I've pretty much got the MS1/Extra handled, and I've got an MS2 daughterboard sitting on the table! :D

Thanks for all of the continued hard work Ken, et al!

Don't forget James!

He made extended the wheel decoder to support uneven wheels, including the Neon!

So you are saying that this won't help me with my 6-1 wheel/wasted spark setup? :(

It will help you, you shouldn't have misses, but dwell A will go a little too long where it used to miss.

Beta10 is working great for me. Ding dong the miss is gone!...Sorry, I've had that stuck in my head. :)

Still need to drive it around and datalog it a bit more to make sure nothing else pops up, but it's working great!

Now, about the PWM idle control frequency being to low.... :D

I don't know that I'll be doing anything about that for 2.0, maybe for 2.1.
