That should work OK. I'd add a small capacitor across the switch leads (maybe 10nF-100nF), this will keep the switch from "bouncing" when it opens and closes, and cut down on noise transients too. Put the capacitor as close to the MS-II as you can; between JS5 and ground inside the MS case would be ideal.
