Activating NOS in Beta code 22Nov creates "Config error
Loaded Latest Beta (22Nov) into MS2. No trouble with buring.
As soon as I activate NOS, I get a "Config error" on the bottom of my MT screen, rpms sit at 65k and I have "not synced" in the lower RH corner. This happens regardless of what input (JS7, PE1 or JS11) I select for NOS Enable.
I am using:
JS 4 = Constant Baro
JS 5 = 2nd WBO
JS10 = EDIS SAW
Another input required for Enable NOS
MSQ attached.

Did you disable the stepper idle? This needs to be set to something other than stepper.

not sure if you're talking to him, me or both of us, but I've never used the stepper idle - I don't have the 12v supply to the stepper chip connected either. The same config works with beta 16 - I just thought maybe his error was related to mine. I want to try the dec. 1 beta but I get that config error (tacho conflict) using the same settings from beta 16.jsmcortina wrote:Did you disable the stepper idle? Doesn't matter whether you use it or not. The default settings enable stepper IAC, so you have to specifically disable it.
Philip inadvertently has it enabled (15 minute IAC.)

Thanks James.jsmcortina wrote:Philip inadvertently has it enabled (15 minute IAC.)

Setting Idle Control Algorithm to "NONE" has solved that problem.
(I had it on ON/OFF idle valve as well but that also did not work)
Kind regards

Now that the config error issue is resolved, I still can't get NOS to work. I've made sure that rpm, tps and clt conditions are met - no joy.)
I've connected up D14 to light up when NOS input goes active (12V on JS7), D15 for NOS stage 1 active (12V on JS0) and NoS stage 2 active on D16 (12V on JS2). All LEDs powered via their respective resistors. I've tested my build with MS2 removed, power applied to the board and then jumpering 12V to each of these JSx points. The LEDs come on when 12V is applied to JS0,2,7. Pin 10 on the 40pin socket goes low from 5V when I "activate NOS" by applying 12V to my "NOS active" input. So I'm confident about my build.
Is there anything in the datalog that I can look at to see that MS2 knows my NOS input is active?
Anything else I should try?

As further confirmation that my hw is ok, I de-activated NOS and activated IAC stepper and I could see the two "stage 1" and "Stage 2" LEDs lighting up properly as step commands were being issued to the IAC, so I know my output trannies are properly wired up to JS0 and JS2.Philip Lochner wrote:Now that the config error issue is resolved, I still can't get NOS to work.

Deactivating IAC and re-activing NOS still did not bring NOS alive.
Any advice would be welcome, thanks.

Did you modify your MS2 card to connect "JP4" to pin 10 ?

The jumper from JP4 to pin 10 is only used to access "PE0" and has no connection with the stepper outputs.
