Any type of speed input currently (like VSS) ?

Any type of speed input currently (like VSS) ?

Post by wes kiser »

I honestly have never thought about this, as I always build straight drives. A friend of mine wants to put MS on his vehicle, which has both tcc lockup, and 3-4 shift solenoid. Is there currently anything in the code that would allow speed (It could just be a frequency for all I care) to be a control point for one of the programmable outputs?

I looked but couldn't find it.

if you create that f to v converter that is in the MS1/E docs under 'traction control' VSS. Once you build it, you can feed this voltage on one of the spare analog inputs. I have not looked into it to see if you can use this signal as a conditional on any other control, though.

We don't currently have anything like a VSS input.

I guess I am wrong. Can you log an analog voltage input on JS7?

MS1 used a VSS-like input for traction control.

MS2/extra doesn't currently have anything like that.

You could probably use one of the spare A->D inputs, and then do some .ini file trickery to display a number.

That is what I was thinking of. Basically feed a variable voltage on one of the A/D and either in MT or in MLV create wheelspeed or power or whatever to aid in tuning.

What type of gearbox is it?

You could get second MS2 daughter card and set it up on some vero board and run the transmission code that James (Jmscortina) wrote. This what I have done to control my transmission.
26 Chev hotrod with a 1UZFE and MS3x, Flex fuel, GPIO Transmission control and LCDash.
Twin turbo LS3 powered Race boat with MS3pro and GPIO.
MS2 on a 22r in a Hilux (mates car).
MS2extra on a turbo EF Falcon (brothers car).
Toyota Supra 1jz MS2extra, COP.
13B Turbo MS2extra.
