Re: JEEP CHEROKEE 2000
Have you taken a composite log using the "log crank and cam" spark mode ?
I've re-read this topic and I'm still unclear on what the exact crank and cam patterns are.

Re: JEEP CHEROKEE 2000
What variations are there on this pattern?
Seems the Jeep 2000 and 2002 use the same crank pattern ? (3 groups of 4 teeth 20 degrees apart)
The 2000 sounds like it has a single cam tooth - but where is it phased?
Do all models have a cam sensor?
Matt makes mention of one version using the same crank wheel but a distributor? Is this confirmed?
The 2002 has a typically awkward cam pattern that I have a diagram of.
I've been working on a preliminary decoder in MS3.

Re: JEEP CHEROKEE 2000
I believe they all have a single cam tooth and same crank pattern, whether it has a distributor (I have one of the distributors with a single cam tooth sitting around our shop; we had been considering making a trigger wheel for it but never did) or distributorless setup. This setup first appeared in 1991.jsmcortina wrote:What variations are there on this pattern?

I was able to find some notes in Alldata on the cam phasing from 1992. The cam / distributor sensor is a 5 volt Hall effect. It transitions from 0 to 5 volts shortly before the #3 cylinder reaches TDC - it's not clear just how many degrees before this point, and there's some adjustability in the distributor. The sensor transitions back from 5 to 0 volts 180 cam degrees later, before cylinder 4 reaches TDC (like most inline sixes, it has a 1-5-3-6-2-4 firing order).

Re: JEEP CHEROKEE 2000
By good luck that seems to match up with the wheel pattern I'd written for the JimStim long ago.
I have two wheel decoders ready for testing in MS3 pre1.1 alpha 8 Phasing will almost certainly be incorrect though.

It is an MS3 decoder. Not available on MS2.
