Hi,

I looked at your datalog and I can see that you cannot go over 3500-4000 RPM because the MS2 is loosing the synchronisation of the engine. The 'lostsyncreason' parameter goes to 7 when the engine RPM is over 3500-4000. I do not know what a lostsyncreason #7 means, but this is normally a problem with you crank VR sensor, cam VR sensor, VR sensors wiring or VR circuitry in the MS2 itself.

Before doing anything else, we need to know what a lostsyncreason #7 is (start a new thread for it, I know someone have the lostsyncreason list, but I cannot find it now).

Another thing I saw in the datalog is that the accel is triggered again, even when you do not want it. This yield to a huge PW spike at idle. Verify that you set MAPdot Treshold at 255 and TPSdot Treshold at 255 too. This will disable the accel enrichment.

maybe i need to put a cro on the vr sensors at 3500 rpm
maybe the vr conditioning circuit on the 2nd vr input doesnt like the surface mount chip (since the standard chip was not available from farnel)
i heard that reducing the 18k resister to 10k on the 2nd conditioning circuit may help
have tried 1.5k to 10k on the crank sensor but that didnt help

any other idea's?

Use the "sync error" composite tooth logger under "Diagnositics" start it saving. Then run the engine until it loses sync. Each time it loses sync it will record the tooth pattern that leads up to the lost sync event.

Stop saving.
Post the log here.

improved a bit with r56 adjust, (tried r52 adjust as well)now goes to 4000 rpm changed trigger but little difference, changed LC-1 sensor now getting better afr readings

what about changing cam sensor edge?
can lc-1 sensor be repaired or cleaned?
what about reducing 18k resister in 2nd vr conditioner to 10k?

ive been busy with other details of life, it goes but not over 4k, and sometimes backfires at lower rpm's, idles around 1200 then drops down to 800 sometimes

I'm using 575° and I'm dead on according to my timing light. Using the 36-2 crank trigger wheel and the crank trigger is at rising edge. The second trigger (cam) is at rising edge too.
