MS2/Extra release 3.1.0 released - now superceded

Post by jsmcortina »

Now superceded
The MS2/Extra 3.0.. series has now matured enough to be rebranded 3.1.0 and uprated to the release version.

Changes since pre 3.1 RC1
36-2-2-2 outputs swapped if not rotary
Added battV calibration dialogue to ini
Add pwmidle shift code.
The staged bits checks were not all checking the correct bits

The release can be found at http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/fil ... elease.zip

Thanks to Jean for pointing out that the zip didn't have updated version names in it. The code was correct, but the version numbers weren't.

So if you downloaded, please re-download.

The version shown in the title of TunerStudio is "MS2/Extra release 3.1.0 20110112 23:25GMT (c)KC/JSM/JB"

regards

Hi,

what exactly does the pwm idle shift code do?

it should prevent idle valve to open to the last know value + adder during shifting on manual trans when throttle is fully released over a certain RPM and during a certain time.

It should help some engine to shift quickly and maybe help some other to have better decceleration. I understand this feature like that even if I did not try it yet.

I just updated the boss's race car to V3.1 (from V2.1). WOW! 15 to 1 race motor with GSXR ITBs, 36-1 wheel and waste spark. Even at 55 degF ambient the car started within 2 revolutions. Gentlemen you are AWSOME! The bossman was very very impressed. 8)

That's because V3.1 is newer than the most current release of TS. The .ini hasn't made it in there yet.

I agree on the autodetect. It doesn't seem to find the whole unit.
Selecting a unit manually and getting in the ini-file after setting up the project did work for me.
I might be wrong though. I was impatient and just clicked along.

Worked flawlessly for me with the latest Version of TunerStudio. I copied the old project to a new folder and replaced the ini-file manually. (with a few tweaks for fuel consumption etc.)

Yeah updated yesterday as well. No issues (as expected).
Just only realized that a minimum "ramp to target" 0f 2seconds for CL Idle is far too long for my micro machine.
However-...GREAT WORK. I like it :-)

Yes, I tried an other unit on another laptop, flashing and setting up new project went fine.
Sorry for the earlier post, must have been my own fault.

I do have problems though....

Seems like weird things happen when:
coolant gets over 100 C
Seems like the warmup mode is activated or something ?
Also on AphaN, when selecting semi-seq injector channel 2 is not giving a PW.
I couldn't get the car running nice on AphaN. Seemed to be instable and PW's didn't match/follow VE table values.
Flashed it back to 2.1.0e and it was fine.

Fantastic news!! My cars been off the road for a year, and I was running the alpha at the time. Great that it's been accepted into the main line.

Are there many new features planned or has this pretty much matured now and MS3 is where the work is based at? With possibly just fixes coming out?

Cheers,

Kristian

No one answered my question, I want to know if there's major change in the coding from 2.1.0d to 3.1.0. Other than sequential injection stuff. My car runs great now but I wonder if by upgrading to 3.1.0 will worth it even I will not be using sequential injection.
