Post by jsmcortina »

Superceded
This is mainly a bugfix release.

Changes since 3.1.0
Oddfire dizzy and fuel-only weren't working correctly.
egoV was broken (applied same fixed as applied to egoV2 long ago)

New feature:
Renix cam support and 66-2-2-2

A number of users are already using this code with success. Please could some more users try it out and once we have a little more feedback it will be promoted to "the stable MS2/Extra code"

You can download the code from: http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/fil ... elease.zip

Thank you James!

Hi James,

I would like to ask you about the RENIX 44-2-2 mode, in the file "ms2_extra_ign_wheel.c" we can see 19 teeth of 8.2° and one of 24.6°, but 19*8.2+1*24.6=180.4 (and not 180°).

Does that change anything ? :?:

Not a great deal, no. Theoretically timing accuracy might be off by 0.1 degrees, but there are plenty of other factors that likely mean this is unimportant.

question... if I upgrade to 3.1/3.1.1, from 3.0, will I need to re-setup/re-tune?

edit... It just occurred to me I am not even sure what firmware I am running. 2.1 for some reason now sticks in my head

The 3.0 stuff was the beta testing phase which turned into 3.1 as a release code. the 3.1.1 is as few little bug fixes from 3.1

Hope this helps narrow down what your trying to do.

You'll have issues loading your 2.1 .msq into 3.1 as there are several ini file changes. You will get several errors and stuff to fix before the code will work properly.

anyone seeing an issue when adjusting the trigger angle (basic trigger) on a running engine and burning the setting the engine stalls? (previous versions it would 'miss' and resume, this one stops until the key is cycled)
also diags tab in TS seems greyed out - possibly an ini issue?

I do have a problem with injector pulsewidth and overrun. When overrun is activating, I would say 5% of the time the PW are = 0 but the injectors are not closed but fully opened, taking the AFR to the bottom :?
I could capture this on a log, I'll create a post in a few minutes.

As noted in the changelog entry above, no changes were made relating to that. Your problem report came after 3.1.1 was released.

Another small glitch.

While using the test mode for the coils, the dwell time can be input in .1 increments but the display in the box deviates (random rounding??) from what is actually typed in, the scope however shows that the output matches exactly what is typed in so there is a deviation between what is shown on the screen and what is actually happening. Also the little up/dn arrows don't seem to work to the right of the values.

It isn't random, just the way TS handles rounding to the right units.

Please post your MSQ. I've tested this on the bench with the defaults and over-run enabled and was not able to observe a problem.

Hi,

I send you an e-mail with the msq and log file, did you receive it ? I am sending you a new one.

Here are the msq and log file.

The problem seems to be related with injection timing table. The problem appears with values = +-500°

I'm not set up to test MS2/Extra with sequential so it could be a while before I can investigate this. I'm not seeing it with 36-1 cam wheel set and "standard drivers".
