Re: MS2extra 3.1.1 anti lag code
Quicly tested today. Works flawless,Once again thanks for the addition.
Here is a log. The test was made only revving the engine, car standing still, and using the stock Celica Idle valve, and the standard ALS settings in tunerstudio. Altought trough the small idle valve the ALS is unable to raise the boost past 100kpa at least as soon i'm back on throttle i'm there on boost, and that with no load on the engine !

BNZ what settings did you use, can you take a pic, hopefully I can understand with a visual look over.

Re: MS2extra 3.1.1 anti lag code
The settings were already there then I've opened the ALS sub-menu
Basically from 2000-7000 retard 40 degrees and enrichment 110. TPS setings are low 16% and high 30% or so. I've raised it from 30 to 70 to give me a wider window for testing it but is to much...it really depends on your driving style and how much you liftoff while cornering.
from here you can adjust...if you want a harder als you can go to 50 degrees or milder back up to 30. Fueling i think will depend on the amount of air you let pass by (how big is the valve)
I've took the car for a spin today and i really gives you a punch as soon you put the gas pedal down, but it needs more adjustment and fine-tuning.
BTW Baldur, can you take in consideration for the next code upgrade to put a termal switch for protection ? Something lile : If CLT > x OR EGT > y THEN Switch ALS OFF
I know CLT is not that relevant but if you don't have a EGT it's still something to take in consideration for switching off ALS until colldown.

Re: MS2extra 3.1.1 anti lag code
egt increase when als is active, the explosions are in the exhaust manifold ... and you should monitor egt if you care about your turbo and exhaust valves
a CLT condition will be ok, als to be active if CLT is above eg. 80 degrees celsius.

Re: MS2extra 3.1.1 anti lag code
Any idea if this function will be implanted into the next official release?
Also it would be cool to have a cyclic idle cool down function, like cutting injector in a sequence to limit rpm and open up the idle valve.

I don't expect this to make it into the next official release but it would be good to get it in there.xox1de wrote:Any idea if this function will be implanted into the next official release?

As for the cooldown idle, I'm not sure exactly how it should be triggered. If the throttle is permanently opened then this could be achieved by setting the overrun fuel cut RPM to the desired idle speed. For cars with an idle valve I guess this would mean waiting for the anti lag to time out and then enabling a cooldown feature or to start in cooldown when the switch is thrown but enable anti lag if the throttle gets opened past the threshold.
Thermal safety would also not be a bad idea.

Re: MS2extra 3.1.1 anti lag code
The cool down feature is triggered by the EGT or CLT, or simply using a different kind of idle, if you activate ALS then the idle switches from normal to cyclic.

MegaTunix GIT/development supports Baldur's modified/enhanced firmware in full now. NOTE: git/development is only available to Linux/OS-X users at this time. See the MegaTunix forum for the install thread.

Re: MS2extra 3.1.1 anti lag code
Can I use JP4/5 active low to trigger the ALS? I.e. wire it the same way as launch control?

Re: MS2extra 3.1.1 anti lag code
Yes. Except that second diode there is completely redundant.
Baldur Gislason
Re: MS2extra 3.1.1 anti lag code
Thanks,
Which do you mean by second diode, and why is it redundant?
The way I understand it is that the diode with it's banded end to ground is there to protect in case there is a voltage on what should be the ground point? Not sure what the other is for.
Rick

Re: MS2extra 3.1.1 anti lag code
The diode on the left protects the input against overvoltage. The diode on the right never conducts unless the diode on the left fails. And even then without current limiting it will probably do no good.

Re: MS2extra 3.1.1 anti lag code
Sorry James,
what do you mean?
My electronics knowledge is so rusty at the moment!
If 12V is given to the clutch switch, diode on left prevents this getting to the the CPU. If this diode fails, then the second diode is there to stop the 12V grounding through the ECU?

50 degrees ATDC. If you need more there's one change needed in the C code to allow up to 100 degrees ATDC.RickRST wrote:How much retard is possible?

Re: MS2extra 3.1.1 anti lag code
this is great... cant wait to try it.
Id love to see this built into the official firmware...
...if not I hope you keep it up to date
