Nice. "Cycle average" takes several samples at the same points, per engine cycle and averages them?

Re: "Noisy" tpsDOT
It is an average of many points (at 0.128ms intervals) between ignition events.JasonC SBB wrote:Nice. "Cycle average" takes several samples at the same points, per engine cycle and averages them?
This should (and has been shown to) give a repeatable result.

Re: "Noisy" tpsDOT
Perhaps we need a new thread for mapDot?
Seems like the tpsDOT problem has been resolved through grounding.

Re: "Noisy" tpsDOT
I agree that this deserves a new topic -- but something more general than MAP sampling. With the MAP averaging improvement, MAP is my cleanest AD input. Even with sanitised grounding, I still see occasional spikes in other inputs which might benefit from smarter sample timing.
That said, I think Jason has set an ambitious task. To get a quiet peek in at each input channel amongst all the mechanical and electrical activity would be quite a trick. If I found that the spikes in MAT (say) could not be adequately dealt with using a low lag factor, my first software approach would be to set a bound -- i.e. that MAT cannot possibly change by more than x degrees between samples, so just continue using the last trusted sample until we get another that can be trusted.
Still, it's nice to see the old thread doing a Lazarus.
Have fun,
Rob.

Cross-posting a bit.. I just replaced my LowZ+resistor pack for HighZ injectors, and now I am getting TPS noise. I dont even have a TPS. My TPS-signal goes directly to ground as recommended .
