If this was addressed at me, I don't know and I'm not going to check. It would be time consuming to do so and this thread is pushing the boundaries of what this forum should be used for.

Which is another proof that you did not just load the B&G code s19 file and that you are not using normally a chip without a serial monitor.

This is not meant as a personal attack (you may simply have forgotten what you actually did to get back to a working setup) but I want to dispel once and for all this idea that you can get back to a working MS2/Extra setup simply by loading the B&G s19 file on a blank CPU with a BDM.

Sooo... do i have the correct data?
kim_gulle you would have to try it and see. All I can say is it is a bit different to what I saw on mine. Mine is definitely a older board.

Yeah, i'll try it then. I'm guessing it should be flashed into the f800-ffff range? Or if using this file, i should just flash it directly into the beginning of the memory so that the actual data will be located at f800-ffff?

That is the point of the S record it has the address and the data.
Hang on, I just thought of something, the S123 record has the address, 32bytes and the checksum. I was looking at addressed 16 byte data and no checksum.
Yep your data and mine are the same, just the formatting was making me see it as different.
You may need this as your last record.

Hi There,

Found this topic on my road to getting my ms2 up and running.
I have the MS V3.0 with the commen problem, i blew the CPU myself.

This was 4 years ago. I eventually bought a new MS and now i want to use this board to work with my Injector tester.

So i took of the MCU and installed a new one(hot air).
I bought a USBDM freescale programmer and i am able to Identify the chip and upload the monitor file.
But after that i stumble uppon trouble.

After i uploaded the monitor, i try to install the firmware. This is what it will say:
----------------------------------------------------------
Serial device:
Enter a comm port number (default 1): 13
Trying: COM13 ..#Opening comm port COM13
(\\.\COM13)
TX: 51
Waiting...
Waiting...
Waiting...
Sent Q and got 0 bytes back.
TX: 0d
e0 08 3e .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..>
(3 bytes)
Sent 0d and got 3 bytes back Monitor found
#Closing comm port

Do you want to use COM13 (y/n default = y)
-------------------------------------------------------------------

After that it will send the bootstrap. But for every TX, i get a RX e0 08 3e in return.

So it is clear that its not really communicating.
Any idea's on this issue?

I wonder if when you blew your CPU the rs232 chips got taken out as well.
IIRC someone said the CAN chipfrequentily dies as well.

The basic comms troubleshooting in the manual is a good place to start.
