MS2 & AMC?
Hi Guys.....
Just wanting to know what ever happened to MS2's AMC feature?
Will we ever see it in MS2-Extra at all and Why?
Just my curiosity... Seems to be a pretty nifty piece of coding...
Tuning on it's own and all......
Cheers & Thanks for the Hrad work!!

Re: MS2 & AMC?
The feature was disabled due to the memory allocation changes. MS2/Extra runs from flash as it has far more tuning data than MS2/BG. This in itself would make AMC difficult to organise. There's also the concern about flash wear-out.

Re: MS2 & AMC?
Are there any plans to incorporate LTFT into MS2 like the MS3 has? Is there any MS2/Extra firmware still available for download that still has AMC built into it?

Re: MS2 & AMC?
No plans to do so as the MS2 doesn't have sufficient flash resources to handle this in the more robust manner that MS3 uses.
There's also a fundamental problem with AMC that it continually adjusts the VE table, rather than a trim table. So, in the case of a defective wideband (or air leak) your whole VE table could potentially be damaged. There's also the risk that if you key-off while a flash-write is happening that you might lose all of your settings data.

Re: MS2 & AMC?
I already understand the risks associated with using AMC, I still like it and want the option of using it. I have megasquirt in a jeep so I experience a lot of sudden altitude changes. I don't use the FLASH Update with AMC only RAM Update which works well because it eliminates the risk of losing data if the key is turned off during a burn. It also keeps from corrupting the VE table saved in flash in the event of an 02 failure, all you have to do is cycle the key off and on and your back to your original table. I would like the freedom to continue to use it while also using the closed loop idle features of the extra software.
My question remains, is there any extra software that I can download that still has AMC built into it?

Re: MS2 & AMC?
It varies of course but sometimes can be as much as 15% or more depending on altitude and how you've been driving. EGO correction authority is set to 15% which works pretty good and doesn't allow the engine to surge. AMC is nice because if correction is consistently above 10% it can be set to slowly allow for more correction in small increments as long as you have the AMC parameters set correctly to do it.

Re: MS2 & AMC?
Just for info, we removed AMC around nine years ago!
