CLT Based Rev Limit Bug in 3.3.1a?

Post by jsiedlicki »

MS2 V3.0 firmware 3.3.1a

There seems to be a bug in the CLT based rev limit code. As I understand it, the bypass limit, when the TPS threshold is exceeded, should override the CLT based limit during warm-up (i.e. emergency acceleration is needed). But after the engine is warmed up you should be able to exceed the bypass limit and reach the max CLT based limit under WOT, right?

Unless I am not understanding how this is supposed to function? :D

Even after the engine is fully warmed, the bypass limit cuts the fuel before reaching the CLT based limit under WOT.

I attached a log file and MSQ that shows this, done on the bench with a Stim.

So for a typical setup is the TPS bypass RPM limit supposed to higher, lower, or the same as the Hard rev limit?

To be honest, the devs never wanted this feature, it was only added after many user requests.

When the CLT rev limiting is enabled, the following cases apply.

Mid throttle, cold engine -> uses CLT curve
Heavy throttle, cold engine -> uses "bypass RPM"
Mid throttle, warm engine -> uses "hard limit RPM"
