MS2/Extra pre-3.4 alpha 7 released

Post by jsmcortina »

To announce the release of "MS2/Extra Pre 3.4 alpha 7" this follows pre-3.4 alpha6

ETA on this 3.4.x code becoming release is 6 months.

Who should use this code?
Experienced users wanting to test the new features.

Who should not use this code?
New or casual users - please use the current release code instead - see the Downloads page linked above.

Main changes since pre-3.4 alpha 6
Bug fixes:
Make behaviour when changing tooth#1 angle more intuitive.
Adaptive idle uses raw RPM target from curve, excluding any taper.

Changed features:
Backport Holset HE351VE VGT turbo 29bit CAN broadcasting from MS3.
LS1 decoder tweak from MS3.
Increase precision of PID wait timer.
CL-idle tooltip and UI tweaks. ** UI change **
Re-write MAF sampling to use average over period.

Minor/internal:
Tweak TpsBypassCLTRevlim to allow > 100%
CAN speedups from MS3.

The zip can be downloaded from:
http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/fil ... alpha7.zip

Be sure to read the RELEASE-NOTES.txt and README.txt. Especially note that "Not Synced" has been renamed to "Not RPM synced".

The current TunerStudio (2.6.0 or later) is required.

you can calculate that within the INI file and make a gauge for that. Best you can do is a gallon/hr or liter/hour, min, sec what have you.
306 SBFord, Torquer II EFI intake, 60 lbs injectors, 8 LS2 coils, VS Racing 7668 turbo, 4R70W, MS3x fw1.4 w/built in trans controller.

tested and works as fine as alpha6, e.g. CAN Realtime Data Broadcasting to the Dash2Pro with 10Hz.

Also did a change to my fueling setup and went to "fully" sequential timed fueling (supercharged S&S Pro Stock 45deg V-twin engine with Y-manifold) instead of two simultaneous injections per engine cycle. The nature of this engine aspiration (as all "Harley" V-twins with Y-manifold) is pretty non-symmetric and ended up to play with injectors' Dead times (instead of two Fuel VE tables): seems idling quite ok now, but some fine-tuning still to be done. Despite alpha status of the code I'm very happy with it!

Thanks James!

Edit: appreciate advice on injectors' timing: is it possible to achieve "enhanced" control (additional timing values) on bank2 injector, should I use the sequential _Siamese_ injection mode instead? :?: and perhaps then need less playing with the bank2 injector Dead time? uhh life-engine-management-learning :RTFM: :D

Edit2: Thanks to Jean, http://jbperf.com/sequential/index.html jumped to http://www.starchak.ca/efi/siamese.htm found the answer: "Harley" V-twin's Y-manifold <=> Siamese port :D Gonna test it soon.

seems idling much better with the Sequential Siamese injection mode. Actually I've never seen that lump motor idling so well: alive even around on ideal AFR 14-15 (dual LC-2).
