Downshift Auto-Blip

I think it would be easy and very nice add-on.

Megasquirt doesn't (presently) have throttle control.

Wouldn't that require a drive by wire throttle body (which is not supported in any megasquirt products currently) or an auxiliary air valve? I'm hesitant to think that any of the normally used idle valves could provide enough air that quickly to allow the engine to rev up that fast (that blip is probably calling for a fast 50% throttle stab).

edit...whoops, should have reloaded the page to see response from James

You are correct and spelled it out in more detail than my terse response.

Some systems use a throttle kicker.

A blipper is used with a paddle shifter driving a sequential tranny. Most drag bikes only care about upshifting, almost all roadracers (including locost-type cars with bike engines) downshift manually.

(Can paddle shifters drive an H-box? Be a pretty complicated solenoid pattern)

For a manually operated shifter, it's a complete waste.

It's an excellent idea but as others mentioned, it's clearly not very easy to implement.
Thanks you;
