boost control with microsquirt v3

Post by steve1166 »

hello people
i wanted to use ams2000 but i decided to use my microsquirt v3 to control boost as i use it as a standalone ecu to control ignition ,fuel ,airshift ,launch ,etc....
is there any way we can add to the code a boost per gear ?or boost vs time after launch ?or any thing to make boost control more effective ?
i know you can use boost vs speed with the ms3 but i didnt find that option with 3.4 code or the 3.3 unless there is a code that i could use that would have these options
if i can use boost vs speed then how can i get the signal from my speed sensor to the microsquirt ?
i know some members use msdroid and use there phone as gps for speed but i would like my microsquirt to have more stable signal
any advice would be great
cheers members

There is no option in the MS2/Extra code at this time for boost vs gear, speed, or time. I assume you're trying to avoid lighting up your tires with too much boost in first gear?

I have an accessory module that's ready for field test that acts as a 2-stage boost delay timer. While launch control is active, boost control is limited to value 'a' psi; for the next x seconds after launch control is released, boost control is limited to 'b' seconds. Once I've cleared out my back orders (hopefully today!), I'll start looking for testers.

More speed -> more boost? But if you measure RWD car speed from rear wheels you may got spin -> more spin.

i think i would you the speed sensor to turn it as a gear ratio
so at example a speed and b rpm will give be c boost and i will keep tuning it down till i have no spinn or wheelies
but i really like the time base idea i want one asap
