ms2 3.3.3 wasted cop wiring (edited*)

Post by juansh2385 »

So I notice something strange or at least not expected. In the release version 3.3.3 if you select wasted cop the code fires output A and C at the same time and output B and D. I know the sequence is ABCD. Normally for wasted spark I only use output A and B and wire all the 4 bip to only 2 processor pin but in this case I try using 4 processor pin and found this behavior.

Wasted COP uses 4 outputs fired in pairs; wasted spark uses 2 outputs. That how it works.

Jean i know that wasted cop fires in pair that is the point. What i notice strange was the pairs. Instead of A and D firing a the same time the current implememtation fires A and C. I would expect that if i wire the car for cop and for some reason I would need to switch beteween coil on plug and wasted cop setup the wiring could stay constant and just change setting ritgh now that is not posible

I think the OP may be confising the situation

ABCD
1342
ABAB
ABCD

A-C is one wasted pair
B-D is one wasted pair

so essentially makes no difference to the operation if its wired from two or 4 outputs

if A-D fired as pairs you would have the D cylinder mistimed.

As Jean says this is exactly how wasted-COP is supposed to operate and IS the same wiring as COP.

Thank for clarifying after I pair abcd to the corresponding cylinder it became obvious that I made a mistake.
