James,
I finally got back to running a 2 stroke using trigger return using 3.4.0. I got the engine to fire but I was having massive sync loss issues. I reverted back to 3.4a4test code we were working on for a year ago and the engine runs fine with out any sync loss issues.

Did your bug fix with 3.4.1beta1 fix the sync loss or is this a different issue?

I am working on a '91 Ford Mustang 5.0L Turbo. The car has a MSPNP2 controller for about a year. The car has been plagued with the uncontrolled high idle at startup (2500 rpm) using firmware version 3.3.1. I loaded 3.4.0 with no change in startup idle. Posting about he issue in this thread: http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewtopic ... 65#p450865 Matt Cramer posted about firmware version 3.4.1 that is to address this issue. I tried it last night.

Same tune in the car except for adjusting the Crank to Run Time from 1.5 to 3.5.

So good news!!!! The Car no longer takes off for the moon (2500 rpm) when it is started! Bad news.... It doesn't appear that the Crank to run time is working at all as I still can not see my duty cycle % rise at start and then lower to my idle setpoint (45.1%).

Here is the tune for the 3.4.1 and the "Hot Start" 3.4.1 Log and A startup 3.4.0 Log:

The duty should not rise at start then drop... IT should start wherever your cranking duty is, then drop off over the crank to run taper time.

If it's not doing that then you're probably not getting into closed loop for some reason.
Megasquirt is not for use on pollution controlled vehicles. Any advice I give is for off road use only.

then drop off over the crank to run taper time.
and it is not doing it, there is no difference if it is set to 1 or 10s ..
In my case it is working like crank to cl idle.
And cl idle starts right after crank so crank to run time is completely ignored.

You're absolutely correct. I had lowered my Crank duty cycle % trying to get the 3.3.1 to stop reving to 2500 rpm. Thanks for setting me straight!

So tonight I readjusted the crank duty cycle and then fired her up. So good news is it seems to work correctly. The only thing that I noticed is the taper time initially appears to be off a power of 10. My taper time was set to 3.5 and looking at the logs the taper time was lasting about 34.5 seconds. Unfortunately I fried the starter on the last trial so I have not tried changing the taper time to 0.4 to see if I get a 3.7 second taper time.

Here are the logs and tune I was running:

Anyone have Coolant Temperature Sensor issues after the upgrade to 3.4.1? My CLT is off by a large amount now, when it should read 180 deg, it now reads 68 deg.

1993 Mustang, stock ford Coolant Temperature Sensor. My stock gauge reads normal and closely matches an aftermarket additional gauge I have in the car.

Make sure you recalibrate your MAT, CLT and AFR tables after loading the new firmware.

Warnings after loading a 3.3.2 tune into 3.4.1 firmware; Can someone shed some light on what they are? they have not posted again after saving the tune from 3.4.1. I have not tried starting the car with the new firmware yet, but I am just curious as to what they were and where to go to resolve them.

The only major change that would affect the ign system qould be the spark output. Going high or going low for your hardware setup. Youll need to retune idle i believe.

Upgrading from the 3.4.0 firmware to the 3.4.1, all my sensors are off. The CLT and MAT are 20° F hotter than what they should be and the map sensor reads 30 kpa less than it should. Even after recalibration. Plugging in a different daughter board with the 3.4.0 code loaded reads correct temps and pressure. Is there some setting that I missed here?

This beta is superceded. Use the 3.4.1 release instead. If you have any questions on that, start a new topic in the MS2/Extra Support sub-forum with MSQ and datalog as usual.
