Firmware modification: Cam sensor with Rover#2 wheel decoder

Hello everybody,

my Caterham with Rover K series engine is running on a MS2 with "Rover#2" wheel decoder (36-1-1-1-1 pattern on flywheel). Now I installed a cam sensor to run fully seqential injection and COPs. Unfortunally the wheel decoder does not support a cam signal. So I switched to a conventional 36-1 reluctor wheel on the damper (dual wheel with missing tooth).

But of course this solution is not very smart when there is an OEM trigger wheel anyway. So is it possible to modify the firmware respectively the Rover#2 wheel decoder to use the cam signal?
