2jz vvti with ms2

Post by red-racing »

It is possible to run the 2jz single intake vvti with ms2? it is only 1 solenoid.
I have tried to run it on/off but seems not to work, and I dont know why.
tried to run it with pwm througt the boost table at 78hz, still not working.

but this vvti will work with ms3 and cam-sensor? ms2 also has cam-input so is it possible to make it work with ms as well?

If it is a variable closed-loop type VVT then you need MS3 to control it.

sure it works with ms3, but I currently have ms2.
no new functions added to ms2 anymore? the hardware is there.

I will take a closer look at the vvti and see how it operates. maybe I can make it go on/off like the bmw vanos

Variable VVT will not be supported on MS2.

To elaborate on what James said - both the code to track the cam position and a PID loop chew up massive amounts of processing power, and an MS2 doesn't have that much to spare. Do not expect any MS3 features that require "heavy lifting" on the part of the processor to be back ported to MS2 - there's a good chance it would take days coding it only to find the MS2 processor isn't powerful enough to make it work on a real engine.
