Direct Injection

Post by mickeymarrows »

Is anyone working towards a DIY solution for Direct Injection?

I've seen both Bosch and Freescale chips are now available, but has anyone had a play with them?

I know there's at least two DI control boxes on the market, one does 4 cylinders, one does 6. But they both have 4 figure price tags..

With DI becomeing more and more common is this a way forward for Megasquirt?

I for one would love to fit MS to my Audi 2.0 16v Diesel, but I also have an hankering for the Audi 3.0 TFSI V6..

Delphi has a driver module to take care of the high voltage for the GM direct injectors, 70v I think. It is called the IDM-2 module and is used in the 2013 HYUNDAI GENESIS. There are two listed on Ebay right now

Interesting...

Rather annoying that the Genesis isn't available here in Europe..

Theoretically, the box in your link could be used with an MS3; I'm not sure anyone has tried it.

Wouln't it be possible to use a cheap 12vdc to 120vac inverter and rectify that back to DC ? Now you would have the high voltage DC needed for the injectors. Then you could modify the output drivers on the MS3X board for the higher voltage. Maybe use IGBT or even cheaper SCR's to switch the other side of the injector to ground. Thought's ???
