Is there talk about getting MS to support individual coils?

Post by Jon k »

I have a BMW inline 6 motor with on coil per cylinder. I want to avoid steppnig back in technology to a EDIS/6 setup. I am going to use the MS for standalone fuel control and leave the stock ECU for timing and ignition, but was wondering if there is anything in the works?

Already purchased my MS-I V3

Yes. The code for six coils is currently in alpha release. See this thread for more information.

What about doing it like this: http://www.msefi.com/viewtopic.php?t=11602

I'd also like to know more about that setup too if anyone wants to chime in about it.

Nobody knows - that's why it's an alpha code. It's just been written and they are looking to debug it. We'll probably know in a couple months.

This particular one is an MSnS-E varient for MS-I.

Indeed. I do not have the suitable engine or hardware at present so cannot do on car testing myself.

I know that the 5cyl COP has been bench tested and performs as expected.
So come on VW guys, lets see it in action!

I’m almost done installing MSnSe on my e36 BMW with 6cyl cop. I only have hour or two a night to work on it but I’m almost done and it’s looking good. At this point I have all my ignition drivers wired in, my first VR is wired in along with all other sensors. The only thing I have left to do is build 2nd VR conditioner circuit( waiting for parts as my local Radio Shack didn’t have it). I think I’ll be attempting to start her in the next couple of days.
