Weber Marelli Injectors

Post by jonfx4com »

Can anyone help me out with the flow rate for IW050 injectors (blue top) from weber marelli. I was sold them as 350cc/min but I suspect they are nowhere near that size. I need amunition to get my hard earned money back but I cant find them listed anywhere, IW050, 052, 044 no problem but not 050!

IW050 as used in Ford 2.0L DOHC is 340cc/min at 3 bar fuel pressure.
Single spray, blue top.

yes, thats the guy told me when I bought them buts its an error in the marrelli catolog as I found out yesterday. They are in fact 189.4 cc/min which as you say is pretty much right for a production 2.0 4 cylinder thumper. It was a genuine error though and he's got a set of 275cc/min ones waiting for me on monday morning. I couldn't figure out why my 350cc (35lb) injectors were going lean in a 2.4 ltr (154CI) non turbo engine!

Thats scary. I calculated the number from the specification. Having done the calculation again it is 205cc/min at 3 bar on gas. I can't see how I could come up with 340. Obviously MM had the same problem.
Good luck.

The guy at the shop was great about it. He changed them for IW031 which are 270cc/min which is perfect for my engine. I hope there are not too many people using the IW050's, The engine damage could be horrible if you don't recognise the symptoms of ultra weak mixture. But I suppose if a person cant tell there is something wrong when they have 180cc injectors dialed in as 340cc they are all in all probablilty better off buying carbs and paying someone else to set them up!

no record if IWp044 but IW044 (non pico) was used on ford sierra 2l 16v turbo 4x4 and escort 2.0 turbo 16v 4x4. No data listed on its flow rate, best guess would be 275-300cc/min

still no records of IWp024 or IW024 sorry
