ignition issues

I'm running an old Mallory Hyfire Cd unit (it's actually new but sitting in a box for 10 years) I'm running the tach input from MS to the - coil terminal as well the hyfire output. With this set up after the engine stalled the tach jumped all over and the injectors fired off a bunch of pulses and flooded the engine. I removed the hyfire output and ran the output from the dizzy to -coil and that fixed the problem. How would I re-incorporate the hyfire back into the ignition? Would it be possible to run the MS tach input to the dizzy input on the hyfire? Or does it have be on the - coil?

Thanks. It seems to run fine if I run the MS tach input to the dizzy input on the hyfire.
