EDIS setup tach input Q?

Hi there.
I have a little weird question.
I have MS V2.2 with all EDIS mods (using LED 17), but for now my MS will be used as fuel only. Can i use PIP input (MS pin 24) to connect my coil for RPM sensing?
Ford Zetec Turbo in progress... MSnS-E, EDIS4, LC-1 ect. The engine is running @ 12Psi :)
